When an energy company needed to move more than 16,000 pounds of high-value equipment from the Netherlands to an oil refinery in Qatar, our teams in Europe and the Middle East collaborated to successfully orchestrate an on-time and on-budget air shipment.
Our air export and pricing teams worked closely with the client, consulting to compare air charter versus commercial airlift options for the most cost-effective solution. AIT also provided essential guidance on packaging requirements for the equipment (which is used to clean and analyze oil pipelines) as well as documentation support to ensure a seamless process.
And, with a commitment to excellence, AIT experts personally visited the client's site to ensure the equipment was adequately prepared for in-gauge commercial air transport on a Boeing 777 widebody freighter, carefully inspecting crate sizing to guarantee lower deck compatibility.
The freight was swiftly packed and prepared for flight within a tight timeline – less than 30 minutes from the client’s first phone call to take off! – ensuring the cargo arrived in time to meet up with a flatbed trailer in Qatar for ground transport to the refinery by the scheduled date.

When a global solutions provider for the metals industry needed to ship a dozen truckloads of heavy, over-sized steel manufacturing components, they turned to the industrial logistics experts at AIT.
Led by the supply chain professionals at AIT-Hartford, our teams on both sides of the Mexico/U.S. border delivered, collaborating with the customer on a cost-effective, comprehensive project cargo shipping solution (including Spanish language support) from a manufacturing facility in Mexico to a steel mill in Arkansas.
With just 48 hours' notice, the team seamlessly coordinated transit permits and escort vehicles for each truckload (averaging more than 9,000 kilograms or nearly 20,000 pounds), enabling multiple successful, on-time deliveries.

When a glass bottle manufacturer needed to replace an industrial furnace, they first had to ship parts – including out-of-gauge components – from a supplier in Sweden to their production facility in Mexico.
AIT industrial logistics experts in Europe and North America quickly collaborated to make the move seamless.
They diligently navigated equipment shortages and frequently shifting sailing schedules to secure ocean transit, while coordinating AIT-provided insurance surveys at both the origin and destination ports.
The teams also set up direct trucking from the Port of Houston to the Mexicali manufacturing facility for precise delivery within the client's crane-rental window – just in time to set the furnace parts in place.
