Government logistics shipment spotlights
May 17, 2023
When the U.S. military recently needed to move multiple truckloads of equipment, some oversized, from the Pacific Northwest to the Philippines, AIT’s government logistics specialists delivered with a multimodal solution.
The team began by routing seven full-truckload shipments from Oregon to O’Hare International Airport in Chicago where the cargo was transloaded onto a pair of chartered 747 flights to Manila.
Despite import permit delays threatening the client with additional cost, AIT mitigated risk by leveraging strong carrier relationships to procure free temporary cargo storage.
And when destination plans changed mid-transit to a remote field on an outer island, the team quickly arranged for a barge charter resulting in a successful, on-time mission.

When a military organization recently needed to securely move sensitive cargo halfway around the world, AIT’s government and aerospace logistics specialists coordinated all aspects of the air charter project.
In the face of inclement weather and aircraft-on-ground situations, security-cleared AIT teammates personally accompanied the cargo, managing truck drivers, couriers, and offloading to successfully complete the mission.
