Looking for global energy logistics expertise with local support?

When a leading global provider of centrifugal pump and valve technology needed specialized assistance with a complex international shipment, they turned to Lubbers Logistics Group, an AIT Worldwide Logistics company.

The project involved moving three out-of-gauge dredge pump casings from the U.S. East Coast to Europe—requiring precision handling and a fully integrated solution.

Transporting oversized, sensitive equipment overseas demands expertise and coordination. The pump casings’ dimensions and weight posed logistical challenges, while compliance and safety requirements added complexity. The customer needed a single partner capable of managing every aspect of the shipment, ensuring reliability and minimizing risk.

Lubbers delivered a complete door-to-door solution using AIT’s global network and in-house capabilities. Services included ocean freight from the United States, import handling and formalities in Europe, transloading, and final delivery.

By leveraging internal resources on both continents, the team ensured fast, seamless execution without introducing risk by involving third parties.

In the energy industry, speed, efficiency and precision are everything—especially when it comes to logistics. That’s why a leading global energy provider turned to AIT Worldwide Logistics to transport a massive shipment of calcium carbonate from Norway to England.

The freight included 300 large bags (1,000 kilograms each) and 275 metric tons of loose calcium carbonate—an essential material for drilling fluid systems, which are critical for oil and gas exploration.

AIT delivered a seamless, end-to-end solution in just two weeks, leveraging our charter vessel expertise and coordinating more than two dozen trucks to collect and deliver the loose material. Additional services included equipment management for crane loading and customs clearance, all powered by AIT’s one-stop-shop model.

When one of the world’s leading maritime energy transportation and infrastructure services companies needed to quickly move a 253-ton off-shore module to a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) in Dubai, their main challenges were tight timelines and limited local availability of heavy-lift capacity.

But they knew they could count on their long-time energy logistics partners at Marinetrans, an AIT Worldwide Logistics company, to deliver a seamless solution.

Marinetrans engineered an end-to-end heavy-lift plan, using self-propelled modular transporters, shore-based cranes, and heavy-lift-vessel deck reinforcement to keep the oversized load on schedule.

The module arrived at its final destination on time, enabling a direct lift onto the FSRU during a narrow floating-crane window with zero operational disruption.

When a global leader in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) shipping needed to outfit 15 of their vessels in dry dock with new, dual-fuel tank systems, they turned to Marinetrans, an AIT Worldwide Logistics company, for proven logistics expertise.

The Marinetrans team quickly delivered an end‑to‑end solution to move the massive systems, each made up of two tanks, measuring 118 feet by 26 feet (36 meters by 8 meters) and weighing in at 130 tons. The plan included chartering heavy-lift-capable barges from a fabrication site in Shanghai to the client’s shipyard in southern China.

Marinetrans completed multiple mid-typhoon-season deliveries of the large, sensitive equipment to vessels entering dry dock, with a program including sea-fastening design, permitting and much more. The work demanded precise marine engineering, heavy‑lift transport, and careful sequencing to align with yard availability and vessel maintenance windows. Strict safety requirements and third‑party technical validation by a marine warranty surveyor further increased complexity, while weather disruptions required flexible schedules and robust go/no‑go criteria.

Despite volatile weather conditions, all deliveries were completed safely, on schedule and on budget—with zero damage. Marinetrans met evolving client requirements with rapid response and documentation control, earning the customer’s trust to manage complex, high‑stakes marine logistics projects under pressure.

When a global energy technology leader needed rapid shipment out of Africa to keep a critical infrastructure project in North America on schedule, AIT’s energy logistics experts delivered a seamless, end-to-end solution.

The shipment was not only time-sensitive, it was complex. The request to move oversized equipment demanded precise planning, specialized handling and continuous visibility. Furthermore, the cargo’s overlength profile required consideration for load planning, safe handling and aircraft selection. Finally, the customer needed assured milestone tracking and proactive communication to ensure project success.

The AIT energy logistics team quickly got to work, securing a dedicated air charter and coordinating door‑to‑door operations, including load plan engineering, carrier selection, specialized ground handling and synchronized handoffs. To minimize damage risk, aircraft and handling equipment for every step of the move was matched to the cargo profile.

The team also established around‑the‑clock monitoring to keep stakeholders aligned throughout the project with real‑time status updates and exception management, ensuring every milestone was met without delays.

From first contact to final arrival, the oversized, transatlantic shipment was completed in just four days, meeting the customer’s timeline, preventing project disruption, and helping the customer maintain momentum for a vital energy infrastructure initiative in the region.

In recognition of the speed, precision and reliability of the operation, the customer continues to entrust AIT with high‑stakes, time‑critical moves.
