When a major U.S. blood services organization needed fast, efficient support to ship time-sensitive, life-saving blood products from California to Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands — a remote location in the Pacific Ocean — they turned to their trusted partners at AIT’s Critical Solutions Group.
The team moved quickly to create a customized plan, including ground pickup and delivery. In close collaboration with our core carrier partners at Los Angeles International Airport, AIT coordinated the quick pull of the package from the cargo hold so it would make its connecting flight (with an extremely narrow 10-minute window!), avoiding otherwise certain product expiration.
The team’s relationships and expertise ensured the critical, temperature-sensitive shipment of human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-matched platelets reached the patient in need – on time and in pristine condition.
And thanks to smart, patient-centric solutions like this, the customer continues to turn to AIT for blood logistics support to serve others in need.

When a pharmaceutical customer known for being a leader in the development and production of treatments for rare, genetically linked diseases needed a solution for overnight cross-country deliveries of their new product, AIT’s life sciences logistics experts developed a customized cold-chain process.
Starting with test runs from Nashville to Chicago, Indiana, Las Vegas and Memphis, the team coordinated with multiple client facilities by collecting, repacking and delivering test shipments to numerous consignees on deadline — while also developing contingency plans to handle any potential complications.
