Personal philosophy

Give more: as a leader, my role is to support AIT team members.

Ryan Carter is a veteran logistics leader who works collaboratively with operations teams to spearhead effective growth. He also provides vision and management to cross-functioning teams, ensuring that operational controls, procedures, and systems are in place to boost financial strength and operating efficiency.

In 2015, when Ryan joined AIT as director of operations, east region, he was responsible for implementing growth strategies, improving revenue yield and driving cost optimization – all while delivering a world-class experience for customers. He was promoted to vice president, Americas operations, in 2019, to oversee operations across all company locations in Canada, Mexico and the United States.

Day to day, Ryan oversees the development and execution of operational strategies and processes designed to optimize effective growth. He establishes goals for improvement in quality, cost, delivery, and client relations. His teams also ensure continuous improvement by analyzing service expectations versus actual cycle times, identifying the root cause of problems, and applying smart solutions.

Ryan’s customer-first approach and commitment to building his teams’ capabilities led to his 2023 appointment as senior vice president, Americas; his most recent promotion to executive vice president came in 2024.

"Adhering to a continuous improvement methodology in key areas of service profit and growth, while utilizing KPIs to drive and quantify cost optimization, allows AIT to maintain and surpass customer expectations."

He attended the University of Tennessee and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology and holds degrees in business administration and supply chain management.

Ryan lives in Boca Raton, Florida, with his wife and two kids, and he enjoys outdoor sports, including boating, fishing, snow skiing, and horseback riding. He and his wife sponsor two children through Compassion International, a humanitarian organization that helps youths living in poverty.
