AIT Worldwide Logistics Teammates Surpass St. Jude Fundraising Goal for Second Year in a Row

More than 20 teams participated in St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer events across North America
ITASCA, ILLINOIS (November 7, 2018) – Global supply chain solutions leader AIT Worldwide Logistics raised more than $55,000 in 2018 as a Silver Level National Team supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® in its mission: Finding cures. Saving children.® This achievement marks the second consecutive year that AIT teammates have banded together to surpass the company’s fundraising goal for the kids of St. Jude.Hundreds of AIT team members along with family and friends joined 23 company teams participating in St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer events across the United States this past September. Together, they collected $28,641 which was matched dollar-for-dollar by the company for a grand total of $57,282. The final donation exceeded AIT’s $50,000 fundraising goal by more than 14 percent.
According to representatives from St. Jude, the money raised by AIT team members can cover the cost of 111 hours of physical therapy, 179 chest x-rays or 128 days of oxygen for St. Jude patients.
Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent when the hospital opened in 1962 to more than 80 percent today.
