ITASCA, IL (Feb. 6, 2025) – The American Cancer Society (ACS) recently recognized AIT Worldwide Logistics Chairman and CEO, Vaughn Moore, with its esteemed St. George National Award, the organization's highest honor for volunteers. Moore is one of just two honorees from the ACS North Region this year and one of only 15 individuals in Illinois to receive the award since its inception in 1949.The St. George National Award is presented annually to a select group of outstanding volunteers who have made significant contributions to ACS's mission through leadership, service, and advocacy. With more than a million volunteers nationwide, the award is reserved for those who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to ACS and its strategic goals over multiple years.
According to ACS’s Vice President of Development, North Region, Mike Ziener, Moore’s efforts have not only significantly advanced the organization’s mission, but his commitment to the fight against cancer also extends beyond his personal contributions, by inspiring AIT teammates to volunteer at fundraising events across North America.

His contributions to the American Cancer Society have not only supported groundbreaking research, but also provided critical resources to families affected by this terrible disease," Ziener said. This award reflects his lasting impact and embodiment of hope, perseverance, and the relentless pursuit to end cancer as we know it for everyone."

“I’m also incredibly grateful to all the generous AIT teammates who have joined me in supporting ACS initiatives,” he added. “Together, we remain committed to making a meaningful impact in the fight against cancer.”
Just 1,743 individuals have received the St. George National Award since its inception 76 years ago. Eligible volunteers are nominated by ACS employees, then nominees are presented to the ACS board of directors, who ultimately select the annual award recipients.
In addition to volunteering and providing financial support, Moore is also a long-time fundraiser for ACS. He co-founded the ACS Impact Makers event in 2021 and was recognized as Impact Maker of the Year in 2022. That same year, he appeared as a leadership honoree at the ACS Discovery Ball Chicago.
