A U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA)-certified Indirect Air Carrier, we also maintain TSA-certified cargo screening facilities in Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco (Life Sciences Division). When necessary, we provide Explosive Trace Detection (ETD), physical search and use of TSA canines.
The TSA requires that certified cargo screening facilities, including AIT’s facilities in Chicago, Los Angeles and Detroit, carry out a TSA-approved supply chain security program and adhere to strict chain of custody requirements.
Cargo must be secured from screening through placement on aircraft. Any facility that tenders cargo directly to an air carrier or indirect air carrier may apply for the program. This includes:
- Manufacturers
- Warehouses
- Distribution centers
- Third-party logistics providers
- Indirect air carriers
- Airport cargo handlers
- Independent cargo screening facilities
