Reverse Distribution Process

After decades of logistics experience, AIT has honed an expert team and is able to provide customers smooth asset recovery services. The process varies depending on unique factors of the shipment, but generally follows these steps:

  • AIT Control Tower examines shipment and contacts shipper location for pickup arrangements
  • Based on requirements, AIT Control Tower assigns agent or carrier
  • AIT provides agent/carrier with shipment requirements and monitors shipment
  • Asset is picked up, swapped with replacement
  • Origin agent/carrier communicates with AIT, provides piece count and tracking, confirms delivery of replacement
  • Shipment is moved to DC or recycling facility via carrier partner or exclusive truck
  • Asset arrives at destination, undergoes inspection and is scanned into inventory
  • Control Tower confirms receipt of returned asset
