Vaughn Moore is Chairman and CEO of AIT Worldwide Logistics. He became an owner of AIT in 2012 after leading his team of Executive Vice Presidents in a successful leveraged buyout of the company. With three decades of service in the logistics industry, Moore's diverse background includes extensive M&A, management, recruiting, sales and public speaking experience.
In 2023, Moore was honored by Ernst & Young LLP as an Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2023 Midwest award winner in recognition of his success in elevating AIT from a mid-size U.S. forwarder to a global logistics juggernaut. He also received the Airforwarders Association’s 2024 Jim Foster Memorial Award and he is among the leaders appearing on Crain’s list of Who’s Who in Chicago Business 2024.
As a leader in the global community of logistics professionals, Moore has been lending an influential voice through his service on the World Freight Alliance's Board of Directors since 2013. He is also a member of the Young Presidents' Organization and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals.
As part of his passionate commitment to community service, Moore began his tenure on the Board of Directors for The Center for Enriched Living in July 2017. Since 2016, he has been a member of the Executive Committee for the Chicago Select Golf Invitational – an annual fundraising event that benefits the American Cancer Society (ACS) – and he led the event as Chairman for a two-year term beginning in 2020. Moore also serves on the host committee for the annual ACS Impact Makers event.
In acknowledgement of his dedication to the fight against cancer, ACS presented Moore with the Impact Maker of the Year award in 2022 and that same year he was recognized as the Leadership Honoree at the ACS Chicago Discovery Ball.
He is also a WGA Director for the Western Golf Association Evans Scholars Foundation and he serves as an at-large member on the Executive Board of Directors for the Rams Club at University of North Carolina.
Moore earned his MBA from J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and he holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
He and his wife reside in the western suburbs of Chicago with their daughter. In addition to spending time with his family, Moore enjoys golfing and actively supporting his alma mater's renowned Tar Heels.
