2023: The prominent Itasca high-rise accommodates AIT's corporate teams across multiple floors.

2023: AIT opens its first office in South Korea, expanding its global network and pharmaceutical logistics expertise.

2022: AIT reaffirms its commitment to protecting the environment as a signatory of The Climate Pledge, aiming to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2035.

2022: AIT-Mumbai is the company’s first of multiple offices to open across strategic locations in India.

2021: AIT acquires Austin-based Intelligent Logistics, a firm with expertise in freight forwarding, cartage, warehousing, and truckload brokerage.

2021: AIT acquires industrial-focused customs broker Multimodal International, Ltd., expanding AIT’s customs clearance expertise across the automotive, chemical and commodities, trade lanes.

2021: To support a new phase of strategic growth, AIT recapitalizes with new financial partner, The Jordan Company.

2020: AIT acquires Germany-based FIEGE Group’s international freight forwarding division, Fiege Forwarding, as well as U.K. residential delivery trailblazers, Panther Logistics.

2019: Thanks to our customers, co-workers, partners and communities, AIT to reaches our 40th year in business.

2019: AIT acquires Unitrans International Corporation, a Los Angeles-based freight forwarder with expertise in a variety of specialized services.

2018: AIT acquires cold chain forwarder WorldFresh, expanding its global office network with an additional temperature-controlled facility. 

2018: AIT acquires UK-based freight forwarder ConneXion World Cargo and extends transatlantic market with offices in the United Kingdom and France. 

2017: AIT announces support for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® by joining the St. Jude Walk/Run as a  proud national sponsor. 

2016: AIT expands the company’s transpacific network to include seven locations in China and two in Vietnam.

2015: AIT opens its Hermosillo office, the company’s first in Mexico. Ideally positioned in the region’s manufacturing center, Hermosillo would soon be joined by four more Mexico locations in Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mexico City and Tijuana.

2013: AIT’s European headquarters, and first office on the continent, opens in Amsterdam. That same year, AIT opens its first office in the Great White North, adding a Toronto location to the global network.

2012: In a friendly, leveraged buyout, AIT’s executive leadership team assumes ownership of AIT. They establish the board of directors, positioning the company for bold growth in the future.

2011: AIT’s fully integrated, web-based, customer-facing shipping solution, MyAIT, goes live. In the years to follow, the innovative solution would add global transportation management, PO management, customer and partner booking and next-generation GPS tracking.  

2009: AIT’s first overseas office opens in Hong Kong. Today, seven AIT offices in China and two in Vietnam support the transatlantic supply chain.

2008: To improve the environmental performance of freight delivery in the United States, AIT joins the SmartWay® Transport Partnership.

2001: To deliver comprehensive global risk management, AIT debuted its U.S. Customs Brokerage services. Today, AIT’s team of knowledgeable experts helps clients move freight across borders quickly and easily with the Wheels Up program.

1999: AIT obtains Federal Maritime Commission license.. From booking to delivery, AIT’s ocean transport experts guide sea freight securely and on schedule all over the world.

1996: AIT’s Food Logistics Division debuts. Over the next 20 years, more specialty divisions would join its ranks, including Life Sciences, Government, Residential Delivery and e-Commerce.

1979: AIT opens for business on Sept. 4., and goes on to earn a reputation for performance, reliability. Over four decades later, AIT is proud to be one of the world’s leading global freight forwarders, offering a full suite of solutions and services.
