AIT’s approach is rooted in a structured and collaborative framework. 

We follow a rigorous process to define our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy, ensuring organizational goals align with the needs of our stakeholders.


AIT’s ESG strategy process

Our methodology is designed to identify the most important environmental, social and governance challenges.

Using widely accepted guidelines from the Global Reporting Initiative and the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, our team completed a comprehensive double materiality assessment to identify priorities, impacts, risks and opportunities across our operations and value chain.

AIT’s Chief Development Officer, Ray Fennelly, serves as the executive sponsor. Leaders from compliance, finance, human resources, operations and sales serve on the committee, providing buy-in for ESG initiatives and incorporating efforts into the overall company strategy. 

Category-Specific Leadership 

Vice President, Global Sustainability, Chelsea Lamar (Environmental), Chief Human Resource Officer, Angela Mancuso (Social), and Vice President, Global Compliance, Aaron Ambrite (Governance), provide expert oversight for their respective ESG components. 

Driving environmental initiatives for a brighter future

AIT is committed to achieving net-zero Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2035 and net-zero Scope 3 emissions by 2050. Our key focus areas include: 

Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions

Efforts to measure, manage, and reduce GHG emissions across operations and the supply chain, including:
  • Procuring sustainable aviation and marine fuels in collaboration with customers and carrier partners 
  • Expanding the use of renewable diesel, biodiesel and electric vehicles in road transportation 
  • Broadening the adoption of low- or no-cost solutions for shippers including freight consolidation, mode shifting and route optimization 
  • Converting all AIT facilities to 100% renewable energy by 2030 



Waste Management and Recycling 

Initiatives to minimize waste generation and promote recycling and reuse of materials.

Strategies to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change on business operations.
