Vaughn Moore appoints Keith Tholan to serve as president of AIT

Published on: Feb 07, 2022

As the first move in his new position as AIT Worldwide Logistics’ Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Vaughn Moore announced on Monday, Feb. 7, that he has elevated Keith Tholan to serve as the company’s president. Moore and Tholan retain their previous titles of chief executive officer and chief operating officer, respectively, with Tholan continuing to report into Moore.

Making the decision to promote Tholan enables Moore to assume executive chairman duties, which include a greater emphasis on strategy, mergers and acquisitions, as well as the broader future of the company.

In his expanded role as president and chief operating officer, Tholan will remain responsible for global sales and operations as he continues to drive efficiency and world-class service across the AIT network.

“In structuring my new position as executive chairman and chief executive officer, I am transitioning my previous responsibilities as president to Keith,” said Moore. “He is recognized as an architect of many aspects of AIT’s business, including the core values, building a best-in-class sales and operations organization, and serving as a driving force behind our growth. This promotion represents the logical progression along his leadership path.”

“As always, it is an honor to continue leading AIT’s skillful, hard-working teammates across Asia, Europe and North America,” Moore added. “Our executive team has traveled an amazing road together. We look forward to the next leg of the journey with everyone at AIT as we keep striving towards our vision of becoming the global logistics provider respected for providing a world-class experience.”

Over the course of 20 years, AIT’s top executives have collaborated to guide the company’s evolution from a mid-sized domestic freight forwarder to a global supply chain solutions leader generating gross annual revenue in excess of $2 billion. They have overseen the organization’s expansion into Asia, Canada, Mexico and Europe, as well as the development of specialized solutions for many major industries, including automotive, consumer retail and technology.

More recently, the leadership group has worked to complement the company’s organic growth with many strategic acquisitions around the world, including WorldFresh Express, ConneXion World Cargo, Unitrans International Corporation, Fiege Forwarding, Panther Logistics, Multimodal International, Intelligent Logistics, and Select Express and Logistics.

Moore remains based at AIT’s global headquarters in the Chicago area; Tholan works out of the newly constructed Los Angeles facility. Follow Moore and Tholan on LinkedIn.
