Personal philosophy
Remain curious, always seeking to learn and grow through the power of an open mind and the endless pursuit of knowledge.
As CDO, Ray Fennelly’s primary responsibilities lie in guiding AIT’s acquisition activities in addition to the company’s global compliance, marketing and sustainability teams. Drawing on more than three decades of experience in supply chain solutions, he thrives on open-mindedness and the pursuit of knowledge.
A native of Ireland, his path in the logistics industry began in night operations, moving trucks to Canada. Joining AIT in 1995, Ray’s career has evolved across multiple high-level posts, including director of business development (1999-2010), vice president of global development (2010-2012), and executive vice president/chief information officer (2012-2025). He was promoted to CDO in 2025 in recognition of his increasingly pivotal role overseeing the company’s many acquisitions.
To support AIT’s goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2035, Ray was appointed executive sponsor of AIT’s sustainability initiative in 2021. He directed the integration of the company’s existing environmental, social and governance programs under a unified corporate social responsibility framework, leading to the 2022 publication of AIT’s first sustainability report. In 2023, Ray accepted the Air France KLM Martinair Cargo Air Freight Enterprise Sustainability Award on behalf of AIT.
