AIT Worldwide Logistics' European Headquarters Earns Authorised Economic Operator Approval

The status endorses AIT-Amsterdam's commitment to cargo safety and security while broadening access to shippers who are also AEO-certified
ITASCA, ILLINOIS (May 24, 2017) – AIT-Amsterdam, the European continental headquarters for AIT Worldwide Logistics, has been approved as an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) by the European Commission’s Taxation and Customs Union.
After successfully completing the extensive approval process, the AEO status affirms AIT-Amsterdam as a fully compliant office facilitating legitimate trade and promoting international supply chain security. The particular approval for AIT-Amsterdam is a safety and security authorization (AEOS). By meeting a wide range of criteria and successfully demonstrating well-documented internal standards and compliance, the Amsterdam facility is now permitted to operate with fewer security and safety related controls while also receiving priority treatment for customs clearance.

AIT-Amsterdam’s new status opens access to AEO-licensed shippers who will only trust their cargo with logistics firms who have also received AEO approval. Likewise, earning the AEO status verifies AIT-Amsterdam in the European market as a financially stable supply chain management partner consistently meeting a high standard for cargo safety and security.
According to AIT-Amsterdam representatives, the administrative burdens that were lifted as a result of receiving AEO approval have generated more reliably rapid and efficient customs clearances. The process of receiving AEO approval also helped to strengthen the documentation of existing operational procedures which improved internal training programs.
