AIT Miami Moves Into Larger Gateway and Operations Facility

Enhancing its international trade presence and strategic growth plans in Latin America markets, AIT Worldwide Logistics has moved to a larger gateway and operations facility in Miami.

Providing 35,000 square feet, 8 dock doors, 600 warehouse rack spaces, and a 24/7 video surveillance and security system, the facility serves as a key transshipment point for AIT's expanding business to and from Latin America, where it has partners with offices in Argentina, Brazil, the Caribbean, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

"The demand in the Latin America market has dramatically increased in the past two years since we opened the Miami Gateway," explained Jaime Cabrera, director of Latin America development. "The expansion will help our AIT offices and partners continue growing into major LATAM vertical markets including pharmaceuticals, automotive, electronics, manufacturing and the energy, oil and gas sector."

Since AIT's Miami gateway opened locally in early 2009, the station has played a multi-faceted role in supporting AIT's global network of offices and partners.

As the critical connecting point between North America, Europe and Asia to Latin America and the Caribbean, Miami is a strategic supply chain center for global trade and commerce.

Building on the global resources of the AIT network, the gateway functions as a consolidation and distribution point for air and ocean cargo and in-transit bonded shipments traveling between continents.

This new facility provides both air and ocean cargo solutions, various consolidation programs and complete end-to-end visibility of all transactions for our customers and overseas partners.

Cabrera, who has more than 19 years in the industry, is joined by gateway and cartage teams with extensive industry experience in the Latin America logistics marketplace.

AIT's new Miami station is located in Doral, Florida, nearby Miami International Airport and the port of Miami:
