AIT Makes Transportation Donation to Ride for Kids

On Sunday, July 17, AIT driver Denny Lange participated in the 23rd annual Chicagoland Ride for Kids benefiting the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation (PBTF).

Founded in 1991, the PBTF is a nonprofit charitable organization that funds medical research and family support programs. They are the world’s largest non-governmental source of funding for childhood brain tumor research and strive to increase public awareness, aid in early detection and support a national database on primary brain tumors.

Approximately 1,400 motorcyclists and supporters attended the event, which raised a grand total of $222,595 for the PBTF. The Ride for Kids kicked off at Elgin Community College, and many of the local brain tumor survivors joined the riders on a route that crossed over the Fox River twice.

AIT Worldwide Logistics donated a refrigerated truck to Ride for Kids, which helped in keeping all refreshments cool in the summer heat.

“It’s a great feeling to work for a company that is truly committed to giving back to the community,” Lange said.

AIT has a robust global logistics network, with more than 50 offices worldwide.
