AIT-MKE Toys for Tots Drive

For the 2014 holiday season, the AIT-Milwaukee location initiated an AIT Cares program to support the Salvation Army's annual holiday toy drive, Toys for Tots.

The MKE team fanned out to place drop boxes at many of their customers' facilities just before Thanksgiving. Over the next three weeks, employees at the participating workplaces were invited to donate new, unwrapped toys suitable for children up to 15 years in age.

The Oak Creek East Middle School in southeastern Wisconsin also got involved by inviting seventh and eighth graders to donate toys for the cause.

AIT-Milwaukee staff swept across the area again in the second week of December and collected the drop boxes which were consolidated and delivered for distribution to families who couldn't afford to buy holiday gifts for their kids.

Toys collected in southeastern Wisconsin went to the Toys for Tots drive in Milwaukee while toys collected from customer locations in the Madison, Wisconsin area were delivered to a nearby Marine Reserve base.

The MKE Branch Manager said, "Our first year of helping the toy drive was a big success. We were able to collect over 500 new gifts in support of the Toys for Tots campaign!"
