AIT Los Angeles station sponsors and attends White Light, White Night

On Saturday, July 16, the AIT-LAX station was an elite sponsor for the 5th annual “White Light White Night” fundraiser, concert, auction and cocktail party benefitting Walk With Sally, an organization committed to providing support systems to children who are living with or have lost a parent or sibling to cancer.

A total of 43 AIT employees and their spouses donned their best all-white attire and attended the swanky celebration, which included a celebrity packed red carpet, a variety of food vendors and an exclusive waterfront performance by Grammy award winning band Blues Traveler.

Guests bid on live and silent auctions while they enjoyed food and refreshments at Taste of the South Bay, a mix of various cuisines provided by over 20 local restaurants. The silent auction featured items including vacation packages, sporting tickets and assorted high-value gift baskets.

Founded in 2004, the organization aims to provide healing and comfort to children through mentoring support programs and services that provide an emotionally safe environment for children to share their difficult experiences.

AIT was awarded the elite level sponsorship and VIP treatment for their support of the organization through the “Hands of Hope” event they will be hosting on Sunday, September 18.

In further support of the organization, AIT committed to the event’s cornerstone “Stand Up For A Kid” program, which provided guests the opportunity to sponsor one child enrolled in Walk with Sally for a full year. The focus is to match and create meaningful one-on-one mentoring relationships (“friendships”) between children and adults. The child in the “Friendship” is living, lived with or lost a parent/sibling to cancer. The adult in the “Friendship” lived with or lost a parent/sibling to cancer in their lifetime or is a cancer survivor.

The AIT-LAX team is excited to announce that they will be supporting a 9-year-old boy whose 5-year-old sister is currently battling stage 4 cancer. AIT’s sponsorship begins this month.
