Troops in Afghanistan Receive Recreational Gear with AIT's Assistance
Last month, AIT was honored to donate a transportation solution that helped bring a complete table tennis package to U.S. Army soldiers stationed in Afghanistan.
The package was a gift of appreciation from an AIT customer. According to that company's vice president, they were contacted by a member of the Army's Bravo 2/44 Air Defense Artillery Unit. The soldier mentioned that the unit's living conditions were sparse and asked if the leisure equipment manufacturer could help out with some amenities. The company was eager to demonstrate their gratefulness by sending an outdoor table tennis table along with racquets and ping pong balls.
Besides moving the cargo free of charge, t-shirts emblazoned with AIT's logo were added to the skid - enough to outfit the entire unit of men and women who are based out of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky.
"Everyone on the homefront should be thinking of ways to support and show appreciation for our troops overseas," said AIT President and CEO Vaughn Moore. "AIT jumped at the opportunity to help provide some recreational diversion in an environment that is often hostile and dangerous. On behalf of AIT's co-workers, we are all humbled to be able to give something back and say thank you to the brave men and women serving our nation."
