AIT Worldwide Logistics is an industry leader in the safe, fast and economical shipping of perishable commodities. Every day, AIT ships a variety of chilled, frozen, fresh and shelf-stable products to destinations across the United States and around the world.

More than 300 food manufacturers, restaurant chains and cold-storage facilities are AIT customers. Of the 21 food companies listed in the Fortune 500, 13 ship with AIT. Customers rely on AIT for new product rollouts, product fulfillment, export, import and a variety of other shipping needs.

The perishable division warehouse is suitably designed to package, scan, label and document each shipment with customized, state-of-the-art technology solutions that produce minimal to no errors. Customers store product in three giant, custom-built refrigeration units and place orders right from their desktop. The 55-person team in the AIT perishable division handles the rest, carefully and strategically tracking every shipment to ensure product integrity until the moment it is signed for.

The operations staff has years of experience in completing documents required in shipping these temperature-protected commodities for transit, while customer service personnel are devoted solely to perishable transportation and monitor every shipment until the moment it is signed for.

Central to service is strict compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. The U.S. Department of Transportation has certified AIT in shipping restricted commodities.

In addition to AIT's perishable facility in Itasca, IL, the perishable division also provides transportation from any point in the U.S. No matter where a shipment originates, AIT can pick it up, pack it and get it safely to its final destination.

A few areas of specialization for the perishable division include the following:

• Product Development/Fulfilment: Customers store frozen, chilled and shelf-stable products in our Itasca, Illinois, warehouse.
• Sample Shipments: AIT ships samples for presentations, photo shoots, trade shows, test and evaluation and a variety of other purposes.
• Product Rollouts: If a customer is introducing a product to food brokers, the media or the marketplace, AIT can handle the distribution. AIT has a staff devoted solely to product rollouts.
