AIT Worldwide Logistics Announces New CRAF Partnership Agreement with Southwest Airlines Cargo

ITASCA, ILLINOIS – AIT Worldwide Logistics has entered into a Civil Reserve Air Fleet (CRAF) partnership with Southwest Airlines Cargo. The strategic alliance designating AIT as a CRAF-sponsored forwarder will enhance the burgeoning growth of the organization’s government and aerospace business.

Greg Weigel, AIT’s Vice President Global Operations, said, “We are proud and always at the ready to support the United States government through the CRAF program. Our partnership with Southwest Airlines continues to grow and diversify each year and we are pleased to have them as our partner for the critical airlift aspect of our government supply chain services division.”

The CRAF is a cooperative, voluntary program involving the U.S. Department of Transportation, the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and the U.S. civil air carrier industry in a partnership to augment DOD aircraft capability during a national defense related crisis. Air carriers volunteer their aircraft to the CRAF program through contractual agreements with the air mobility command (AMC) and in return, participating companies are given preference in carrying commercial peacetime cargo and passenger traffic for DOD.

AIT is a certified C-TPAT and TAPA compliant provider and a sustaining member with the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA). The company is also certified with cargo screening facilities throughout the U.S.

AIT has a robust global logistics network, with over 52 offices worldwide.
