AIT Greenville walks in March of Dimes
On Saturday, April 30, members of AIT-GSP and AIT-CLT were joined by family, friends and customers at the 4-mile March for Babies, which supports the March of Dimes.
This marked the second year that the station has lent its support to the organization, which is dedicated to lifesaving research, community services, education and advocacy to help prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
This year, the AIT team increased their fundraising efforts by over 800% from last year and were awarded a plaque for their efforts.
The March of Dimes has led the way in discovering the genetic causes of birth defects, promoting newborn screening and educating medical professionals and the public about best practices for healthy pregnancy.
Since 2003, the organization has responded to the rising incidents of premature birth through an intensive, multi-year campaign to raise awareness and find the causes of prematurity.
