AIT-Atlanta Station Sponsors Food Drive for Orphaned Dogs
AIT-Atlanta co-workers and their families recently gathered at Stone Mountain Park to host a fundraising cookout benefiting Praying for Paws, a non-profit no-kill dog shelter in Henry County, Georgia.
With the primary mission to find adoptive and foster families for homeless dogs, Praying for Paws and its volunteers are dedicated to bathing, grooming and walking the hounds. Above and beyond these duties, some volunteers even foster dogs in their homes while awaiting adoption.
As a result of their efforts, the AIT-ATL family generously raised enough food to feed the shelter’s 30+ dogs for at least four to five months. Assistance arrived from as far away as AIT’s corporate headquarters location in Chicago with one generous donation covering four extra large bags of kibble.
An AIT delegation delivered the dog chow to Praying for Paws’ offices on Oct. 26. The station later received thanks and kudos in the organization’s November newsletter.
